Choker Necklaces
Accessories are always a key part of fashion. Jewellery speaks volume and is always in trend. A choker is a necklace that fits very tightly around the neck. It sits around the throat like a collar. This type of jewellery can consist of one or more bands circling the neck. Chokers can be made of a variety of materials, including velvet, plastic, beads, metal, and leather. They are often adorned in a variety of ways, including with sequins, studs, a pendant, or a cameo.
This style of necklace may have developed from the fashion of wearing a ribbon around the neck. In the past during the french revolution, the young ladies in England took a fashion of wearing red ribbons around there throats.
Chokers in the victorian era featured a cameo, and had a typed of carved medallion that could be worn as a pendant on a ribbon tight aorund the neck, or as a brooch.
The choker necklace was much popular in the Roaring Twenties. Chokers grab the attention to a slim and attractive neck.A black or red choker, with black lace gloves and a plunging neckline, can make your look quite suitable by giving you a vampire look. Chokers can also be used to make more forceful fashion statements. Leather chokers studded with metal can be also worn. I’m not averse to this at all and nor should anybody be – there’s a classic, sultry feel to a black ribbon that never really fails.
