‘Kick’ To Soon Cross 100 Crore Mark
The Sajid Nadiadwala-directed blockbuster ‘Kick’ has kicked in early Eid celebrations for the makers by collecting a whopping Rs.83.83 crore nett at the box-office. Rs.80 crore in three days! That’s Salman Khan’s impact.
Kick, also starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, was released in over 5,000 screens in India on Friday and in 42 other countries including non-traditional markets like France, Germany, Morocco and Maldives. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Kick’s weekend figures stand Rs.26.50 crore on Friday, Rs.27.15 crore on Saturday and spectacular Rs.30.18 crore on Sunday, totaling Rs.83.83 crore nett.
It wont be longer until the box office gets kicked with a spectacular 100 crore mark, however some people had said this film would touch the mark of 300 crore, its never too late. The film, started off in a triumphant note and collected Rs.27.15 crore on Friday. The film is also the highest Salman Khan opener in USA-Canada. However, ‘Kick’ has failed to match all-time records of opening day collections in Bollywood despite getting a mammoth release of 5,000 screens. The superstar’s biggest opening day collection remains 32.90 crore, recorded by his 2012 Eid release, Ek Tha Tiger. Trade pundits are predicting that ‘Kick’ will see a hike in its collection Tuesday onwards.
A star can lift a movie like ‘Kick’ making its silliness sublime. That doesn’t happen here. Mr. Khan, now 48, has bulked up in the gym and shed much of his appealing boyishness. Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan too tweeted about the movie, “Kick is highly entertaining with enjoyable performance from the entire cast. Sajid Nadiadwala makes an impressive debut film.. Blockbuster !”
Lets hope this prediction is true and Kick hits the not so achieved 300 crore mark soon. Best wishes to The entire team of kick and a hearty Eid Mubarak.
