Santoshi Mata Aarti – The Hymn of Goddess Santoshi
Santoshi Mata is the Hindu Goddess of calm and contentment. Santoshi Mata is prayed for 16 consecutive Fridays, to bring about a total fulfillment of ones hopes and aspirations. Santoshi Mata is considered as the omnipresent divine mother in Shaktism. The focus is on the worship of the mother as God or the eternal all powerful mother, from whom everything emerges.
The Aarti of Santoshi Mata is to be recited with devotion after lighting cotton wicks dipped in an earthen pot made from clay or any other oil lamp. The Aarti can be said everyday, and Friday is the weekly day of the Mata. Family values are said to be cherished and rewarded by Santoshi Mata.
