Star Studded Pro Kabbadi League

Pro Kabbadi League (PKL) probably got the biggest support that it could ever get on it’s inaugural day. It was a star studded evening in Mumbai on July 26th as Abhishek Bachchan’s kabaddi team (Jaipur Pink Panthers) faced their rivals (U-Mumba) in the opening match of the Pro Kabaddi League. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan was present along with wife Jaya, daughter Shweta, son Abhishek and daughter in law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. ‘Baadshah of Bollywood’ Shah Rukh Khan was also present along with ‘MR Perfectionist’ Aamir Khan. Also gracing the occasion was ‘The god of cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar who was present at the venue along with wife Anjali and daughter Sara. Industrialist Anil Ambani’s wife Tina were among the other A-list guests present for the match between Abhishek’s Jaipur Pink Panthers and U-Mumba. Even though Abhishek’s team lost the match to U-Mumba, it did not deter the spirit of the Bachchans who led the cheerleading squad at the event. He tweeted “Pro Kabaddi today started .. Jaipur Pink Panthers v U Mumba .. we LOST !! No sweat ! great atmosphere, and great turn out .. watch”. Abhishek Bachchan post match tweeted “Unfortunate loss last night. Thank you all so much for the support. Congratulations to @U_Mumba and @RonnieScrewvala for a deserved win.”

Sachin Tendulkar enjoyed the game and said “I am here to support the sport. Couple of days ago, Abhishek called me and said we are having this Kabbadi league match and this is the first game and why don’t you come here, so I am here. This is just incredible to see the agility there, the speed, the awareness, it is extremely important and I have played this sport in school. It has been fantastic to come back again and support the sport,”

Aamir Khan said, “It is very exciting to watch the game. I used to play in my childhood and I am seeing it after a long time and enjoying it. It is an amazing game and it is totally Indian,”
